Elena Zassimova was born in Moscow. She graduated from the Secondary Art School named after V.I.Surikov in 1972. I n 1978 she graduated from the Art Institute named after V.I.Surikov. From 1982 until 1984 she was a grant-holder of Painters Union of the USSR, and she has been a member of the painters’ Union of the USSR since 1984. She has participated in exhibitions in Moscow, Russia, and abroad since 1974. She lives in Moscow.
